PLAYON!

PLAYON! is an international initiative supported by the Creative Europe programme, dedicated to revolutionizing theatre by creating interactive and immersive experiences. At its heart, the project sought to transform audiences from passive spectators into active participants and co-creators of the theatrical journey.

From 2019 to 2023, artists and institutions from across multiple countries collaborated within PLAYON!, exploring innovative technologies like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and holograms. This groundbreaking work resulted in 27 pioneering productions that challenged traditional boundaries, offering fresh ways to engage audiences and reinvent stage environments, shaping the future of contemporary theatre.

A total of nine theatres and academic institutions have been involved in the PLAYON! project, contributing their unique expertise and creativity to this visionary endeavour:

PLAYON! to międzynarodowy projekt realizowany w ramach programu „Creative Europe”, którego głównym celem było przekształcenie tradycyjnego teatru w interaktywne, immersyjne doświadczenie. Projekt skupiał się na poszukiwaniu nowych form opowiadania historii, w których widz nie jest jedynie odbiorcą, ale staje się aktywnym uczestnikiem i współtwórcą wydarzenia scenicznego.

W ramach PLAYON! artyści i instytucje z różnych krajów eksperymentowali z wykorzystaniem nowoczesnych technologii, między innymi takich jak VR, AR, hologramy. Projekt realizowany był w latach 2019–2023 i zaowocował powstaniem 27 innowacyjnych realizacji teatralnych, które testowały nowe sposoby pracy z widzem i przestrzenią sceniczną.
